  Op Poppy Drop

In early October 2008 a world first is going to happen – the first ever skydive over Mount Everest! Everest is the highest mountain in the world so it follows that the drop zone will also be the highest on the planet at 12,350ft.

This incredible venture has been 2 years in the planning and is being organised by the adventure travel company High and Wild. 24 skydivers, supported by an extremely experienced team brought together by High and Wild, will travel to Namche Bazaar, the ‘Sherpa Capital’, to make the skydive with Mount Everest as the stunning backdrop.

Chris Parsons is lucky enough to be one of the 24 skydivers and Cath Parsons is a member of the supporting team.

We have decided to make this historic skydive for charity.  We served for a total of 49 years in the British Army between us, and both of our twin daughters and their hubands have either served, or are still serving in the British Army. It was an obvious choice for us to make our charity the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
and Op Poppy Drop is our fund-raising endeavour.  ALL the money that is donated goes directly to the Royal British Legion, there is a link to the bmycharity website on the 'donation' page.

The Royal British Legion (Registered Charity 219279) provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for the Legion’s support and they receive thousands of calls for help every year. The Legion is the major voice for ex-Service men and women, campaigning on issues such as Gulf War Related Illnesses, War Pensions and Noise Induced Hearing Loss as well as offering assistance and support for those soldiers and their families returning from the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Servicemen and women from all generations need support from the Royal British Legion so dig deep in your pockets and give as much as you can to help our brave and loyal British Forces.  Remember that ALL the money you donate goes directly to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
